Why Humidity Control Matters in Cannabis Cultivation
Cannabis cultivation isn't one humidity target, it's several, and each growth stage has a different tolerance for getting it wrong. Four things go wrong when RH isn't controlled precisely through the full cycle.
Propagation is the least forgiving stage
Clones and young plants have underdeveloped root systems and rely heavily on humidity to prevent moisture loss through the leaf surface. Low RH during propagation stresses clones before they've had a chance to establish, and losses here are expensive because they happen before any real growth investment has paid off.
Cure-stage humidity affects trichome quality
Drying and curing too fast, which happens when ambient humidity runs low, degrades trichomes and can strip terpenes before they've had time to stabilize. This is a quality problem that shows up after harvest, when it's too late to fix, not a comfort issue you can compensate for later.
