Psychrometric Calculator

Enter your room or air handling parameters and get an instant, sized recommendation for your CleanSPOT system, not just raw psychrometric numbers.

Works for both direct-room humidification and duct or AHU-integrated systems, choose your setup below.

SIZING TOOL

Psychrometric Calculator

Calculate your humidification needs based on your actual room dimensions, air exchange rate, and target humidity, then get a recommended CleanSPOT system configuration built from your real GANO-Models and FOGO-Models capacity options.

Direct-Room Humidification sizes a standalone room using its dimensions and air exchange rate. Duct / Air Handling Units sizes a system integrated into your existing AHU using its airflow capacity. Choose the tab that matches your setup below.

How the Psychrometric Calculator Results Work

The calculator above gives you a sized recommendation directly, but it's built on real psychrometric principles worth understanding, especially if you're specifying equipment for a regulated facility where the reasoning behind a number matters as much as the number itself.

Absolute Humidity

The actual mass of water vapor per cubic meter of air, expressed in grams. This is the figure the calculator uses to determine how much moisture your target RH actually requires versus what's already present in your outdoor or supply air, it's a direct measure, unlike relative humidity, which shifts with temperature.

Humidity Difference

The gap between your target indoor absolute humidity and your outdoor or supply air's absolute humidity. This difference, multiplied by your air volume, is what actually determines how much humidification capacity you need, it's the real driver behind the recommended L/h figure.

Air Exchange Rate

How many times per hour the air in your room is fully replaced. A higher exchange rate means more fresh, typically drier air entering the space continuously, which increases the humidification load needed to hold your target RH.

Safety Factor

A margin added on top of the calculated requirement, accounting for real-world variables like door openings, occasional peak loads, or equipment cycling. Most industrial installations use a 15 to 25 percent safety factor rather than sizing to the exact theoretical minimum.

FAQ

Psychrometric Calculator: Frequently Asked Questions

How does the humidification sizing calculator work?
It calculates the absolute humidity difference between your target indoor conditions and your outdoor or supply air, multiplies that by your air volume, then recommends the CleanSPOT GANO-Models or FOGO-Models configuration that covers the requirement.
Which mode should I use, Direct-Room or Duct/AHU? +
Use Direct-Room if you're sizing a standalone space with its own room dimensions and air exchange rate. Use Duct/AHU if the humidification system will integrate into an existing air handling unit using its airflow capacity.
What safety factor should I use? +
Most industrial installations use a 15 to 25 percent safety factor to account for real-world variables like door openings and peak loads, rather than sizing to the exact theoretical minimum.
Does this calculator account for building leakage or process moisture load? +
No. The result is based on absolute humidity difference and air volume alone. Final sizing should also account for building leakage, process moisture load, ventilation control, and installation layout, our engineers can review your specific facility for a final recommendation.
Can I get a formal quote based on this calculation? +
Yes, use the recommended configuration as a starting point and contact our team, we'll confirm sizing against your specific facility conditions and provide a formal quote.
